Dairy free desserts for your baby & toddler - Banana and Chia Delight
Today I'm giving you a dessert for your baby that is dairy free and tastes so good that I think it should be illegal!

I come across a lot of babies and toddlers who have an intolerance or allergy to cows milk protein. This can also be linked to reflux (GORD) and these babies often have sleep issues. In fact 40% of babies with reflux will have cows milk protein intolerance or allergy.

I have a real love of cooking, baking and anything to do with nutrition and health. A lot of my clients are very healthy parents who introduce me to new ideas. It was on one such visit for an overnight stay to help a family with a 10 month old who woke up 10 times at night to feed that i came across this amazing recipe.

It's really simple and no-cook. A win-win in my books. And it's healthy and helps babies sleep.

And wouldn't it be really awesome if you could fix your baby's sleep problem with diet?

Babies need a diet high in tryptophan to increase melatonin, the neuro-transmitter that helps babies get to sleep and stay asleep.

Foods that are high in tryptophan include bananas.

Banana & Chia Delight

    • 1 or 2 banana's
    • 1 dessert spoon of organic chia seeds
    • 3 medjool dates, stone removed
    • I 125ml can of coconut milk and/or almond milk

    • 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla bean paste
Put all the ingredients into a food processor or whizz up together with a stick blender. Add enough coconut milk to make a sloppy puree the consistency of yoghurt. Place in the fridge for 4 hours until it has thickened. Yummo :-)

Divine Chocolate & Chia Dessert

Same ingredients as above and add a dessertspoon of raw organic cocoa powder. You may need to add extra coconut and/or almond milk.

Again put in the fridge for 4 hours until it has thickened and the chia seeds have absorbed all the liquid.

This dessert will not only be your baby's favourite but I think it will become a mummy's favourite too.

It is absolutely divine ❤️ and too easy. Two thumbs up from me ???????????????? ???? And it's an awful lot cheaper than one from the supermarket at nearly $4.

You can make your own. Add blueberries, chia and coconut milk and voila! The combinations are endless...

Yummy and healthy. Now that's a real win-win in my books! ????
